1243794 2011-11-16 03:48:00 Anyone else get a email from Apple telling them there is a problem with the batteries in the Ipod Nanos?

You have to return them to Apple and they will send you a replacement in 6 weeks.

Why do we have to wait 6 weeks? Couldn't they arrange for you to take it to an Apple dealer, where you give them the faulty one and they give you the replacement there and then.

Full marks for replacing faulty product, none for making you wait a month and a half for it.

1243796 2011-11-16 05:56:00 I guess they will check to see if it is actually faulty before giving you a new one gary67 (56)
1243797 2011-11-16 06:10:00 And international shipping isn't instant. They probably have special stock which they have set a side for this, you know like a proper business would. How hard to you think it would be to count out all the ipods they gave away at random apple dealers and then refund the cost? This would just make it difficult for Apple to put this onto their financial statements that THEY ARE REQUIRED BY LAW to have. Did you know that Noel Leeming is a registered Apple dealer. Why should they have to bother sort out what they gave away? Do you think they are equipped to test if your ipod is actually one of the effected models? It would then take a retailer months to get their money back.

My point is it wouldn't be as easy for some random apple dealer and if they screwed up that would just be another cost for apple that they could have avoided.

1243801 2011-11-17 02:22:00 Hmm.. In one person's opinion they shouldn't even still be about. I love it when "experts" stuff up! (Snip from a German Mag this morning - translated by Google)
