1243945	2011-11-18 00:37:00	The reason there are no jobs is that nobody is allowed to do anything . There is always a protest by the Greenies/Communists that tries to halt everything . To help them out, the Government has given them the Resource Management Act as a tool whereby by the time you fight your way through the Bulls . . t, the project is uneconomical, so nobody bothers . Take a look at the cost of permits and consents for a basic house, let alone anything that requires a specified departure from the District Plan . So what to do? Simple, we cash in on our extreme Mineral and Oil wealth . Yep, we Drill for Oil and becoming self sufficient and we then export whatever is economically viable to help pay for our Imports, we build another one or two Hydro Power Stations to supply our energy needs, we Mine for Minerals and Coal and having satisfied our own needs we export to balance the books . Did I hear the screams of “What about the Environment”? No problem, all these activities could be carried out in a manner that would only enhance the environment . The Hydro Lakes could be a real bonus for Recreational Activities and Tourist Attractions . The Mines could be backfilled as they go and turned into Arable Land, Bush Park, Conservation area, the list goes on . The Drilling Rigs, well in all probability you wouldn’t even know they were there unless you were told . They may be on land or they may be over the horizon at sea . They may even be in the Southern Ocean . So which Party will do these things? Ahhhhhh there’s a problem, all we’ve got is a bunch Egotistical Morons that are more interested Media Stunts than the serious matter of running the Country . :groan:	B.M. (505)
1243946	2011-11-18 01:25:00	Metla, your explanation of the worth of a BA was very well put. A BA degree shows an ability to learn too, and this can be of value in many many vocations. A lot of people who do a BA then move on to other degrees as well which are more vocation orientated such as LLB or BE. Nobody ever suffered through having an education, but there seem to be some here who suffered by not having one.	Richard (739)
