| 1244726 | 2011-11-21 23:42:00 | Anything that puts an end to members of parliament who are not elected by the general populace is OK by me... STV FTW. @rumpty: "Isn't it time to get over lumping the Greens with communists?" - why, the Greens are rife with them! |

| 1244729 | 2011-11-21 23:53:00 | Isn't it time to get over lumping the Greens with communists? I think it is quite valid to remember that some of the Green members have a history linked to the communist party eg. Russel Norman. Do you think their basic thinking has changed just because they have joined the Greens. |

| 1244732 | 2011-11-22 00:23:00 | Its a shame we don't know more about how SM and STV will work in practice. Eg it took "us" a few elections to get to grips with MMP. There should have been months of education about this. Not just a lame website that gives the rules for each one. How do they work overseas - Not just Ireland and Australia but in all the other democracies. I believe in proportional systems. |

| 1244733 | 2011-11-22 00:36:00 | Its hard to see why United Future and Conservative party are not more popular...... Good point Globe. Id completely overlooked United Future so have had a wee look at their website but they seem to have completely avoided all the hard questions like Separatism, Asset Sales and the Foreshore. I guess this is because of their alignment with Key and not wanting to offend him. Dunne himself seems a steady enough fellow without being inspirational and I guess the fact that hes an elected member adds credibility. Unlike some others, I doubt he would do any harm, even if he didnt do any good. As for the Conservative Party, I would have overlooked them too had a flyer about them not dropped out of our local paper. Lack of media exposure seems to be the problem. |
