1244677 2011-11-22 06:12:00 I quite like the look of this one: www.asus.com

Looks good and not a bad price (pbtech.co.nz) either!

1244678 2011-11-22 06:19:00 Brilliant laptop, but too much apple hate around here to even bother mention it.

Your budget is a bit light what ever brand you're looking at for an ultrabook.

Yeah majority of people are to dumb to even bother with anything apple when the computers themselves are actually really good (regardless of if you like mac or not) and if anyone brings up how apple behaves as a company you better hope like hell you don't own anything with "Intel Inside".

1244679 2011-11-22 06:23:00 I personally would go with the Mac book air. I would try OSX but if I didn't like it then I would just chuck 7 on it. sahilcc7 (15483)

+1 I doubt you could find a better spec'd ultraportable for the price.

1244682 2011-11-22 06:57:00 yeah the air within price and the thinnest, 11 or 13 screen i5 or i7 Nomad (952)
1244683 2011-11-23 09:29:00 Mb Air 13" i5 4gb ram 128GB SSD = $1999 from apple so you could probably pick it up cheaper elsewhere. It might be worth trying to find a cheaper older model with the 320m gfx instead of the HD 3000. But they only have core 2 duo's. icow (15313)
1244684 2011-11-23 17:56:00 Intel HD 3000 is nowhere as bad as most claim. For the battery life it offers, I'd go for that.
I really regret not getting the MBA because of paranoia of Intel graphics.
