1244523 2011-11-21 02:49:00 I can hear the Rev Paisley speaking... The idea that an Ulsterman can lecture other people on race, religion, or culture is risible! Go and sort out Ulster before you bring your brand of prejudice and intolerance here. John H (8)
1244524 2011-11-21 03:27:00 For #^%$#$^ sake
You are saying that State TV CANNOT cater for a 10% slice of NZ on TV1 ??

Sounds more like racism rearing its ugly head, yet again.
Nothing to do with being PC or not.
Anything Maori, just put the boot in.

So we shouldnt have any Xmas programs , as 85% on NZ arnt practicing church go-ers ??
No Rugby either, as 75% of us arnt interested & their are sports channels for that sort of thing
etc etc etc

I don't think that you read the post properly. The post did not say that there should not be any maori programmes - it said that the maoris have their own channel so why can't they keep all their maori programmes where they belong and leave the other channels free of maori programming. Those who want to watch maori programmes - you, 1101, included it seems - can then watch moari programmes to their heart's content if they want to and leave the other channels for the people who have no interest in maori programmes.

I also think that you have it wrong again saying that because someone does not like maori programmes then they must be racist. What a load of crap! We live in a democracy and it is our right to say what we like. Just because you think something is rubbish that does not make you racist, it just says that you don't like maori programmes. There is no law against that, so I think that you should take your self righteous attitude to a communist country where you would be more appreciated.

Also, reading that post it did not say, as some have said, that the maori television channel was no good - it just said that maori programming should be on the maori channel. I can't see too much wrong with that.

Climb down off you high horse, 1101. You're much too self righteous for the rest of us mere mortals.

1244525 2011-11-21 03:58:00 What I detest on moaris television is a the patsy questions they ask when interviewing. Like they dont put the person on the spot or under pressure.
Or if they do ask a pointed question they ask it like they are apologizing and have to ask the question.
About as much fun as watching paint dry.

1244527 2011-11-21 04:04:00 It should be for the bucket of tax payers money that gets thrown at it each year with no accountability..

And State-owned TVNZ is accountable for the quality of their programming ?

1244528 2011-11-21 04:21:00 I think maori tv does ok. Maori progs on other channels is ok, how many channels are there now anyway? rob_on_guitar (4196)

Nothing to do with quality but everything to do with the money spent. Maori TV doesn't seem accountable for that part..
