1267437	2012-03-29 21:50:00	Common sense works well ( sometimes) ;) Other wise have a read of the-safest-search-engine-on-the-web (techie-buzz.com) WOT is suggested as it has a rating beside each result. BTW - you dont even have to be on a web site for a computer to become infected, you can get hit at anytime even without a browser being open, by whats known as a "drive by download" Example article here (www.pcworld.com lity_in_windows_media_player.html). Ive had it happen here on the other half's computer - and there wasn't even anyone at the computer at the time, Nod32 stopped it dead in its tracks though :thumbs:	wainuitech (129)
1267438	2012-03-30 02:43:00	Safest Search Engine??? What's wrong with Google? Google flags malware sites, if code is infected. And, yeah, common sense, and for instances like Wainuitech says, proper protection on the PC.	pctek (84)

Its surprising just how many nasty sites Google brings up when searching . Even today, just googling to find a fix/workaround for a certain piece of software , alot of the 'hits' were bogus crack tools, warez download sites etc (I didnt want these dodgy sites) Some days I'd had 25%+ bogus/dodgy sites as hits if I put the software brand name in the search (looking for bugfixes) It wouldnt be that hard for google to filter most of this stuff out . I'd agree that common sense is the best filter, but 50% of Win users just dont seem to have that :) Using open DNS may be a good answer for the original question ??	1101 (13337)
