I tested it out and I received an email with the gps location, so that works ok. I wasn't game enough to try the loud siren scream though! LL |

I lost a RRP $899 phone after 2 or 3yrs. Rang the phone after an hour or so ... already no dialtone. I did set up a PIN for the simcard - that has not been accessed so didn't lose any money. The phone also had a security lock code upon reboot. I've now put on a timer too with my current phone. Which means after 1min or so .. it would self lock and requires a PIN before you can read your text message or go thru the menu's. There is a remote text message factory reset and lock up the phone. But the thing is if they take your simcard out - your text message does not get thru and afaik ... without a simcard the GPS and data connection becomes ineffective too..... |

With Lookout you can clear data remotely and or activate a lock, but isn't the main reason I put the app on, it is for the anti-malware/trojans etc., that are doing the rounds on Android OS. Someone would have to steal my bag or break into my house to get the phone, and I know that can happen to anyone, I just hope that doesn't happen at all. Mine also has a PIN to unlock it. (It locks and goes to sleep after two minutes). Bit of a nuisance having to enter the PIN all the time though, to read messages etc. However, say I left my phone at work or somewhere, at least I'd be able to know where it is with the Find My Phone feature.
