7136 2000-11-18 03:14:00 When booting my computor the following error message came up - 'while initializing device IOS Error: Real mode system memory allocation failed'.

After trying to reboot several more times the error message no longer appears. However every time I boot the computor goes through the options of safe mode. I choose 'normal' and Windows loads.

The screen now defaults to 640*480 with 16 colours. I adjust back to the original settings of 800*600 and 256 colours but on rebooting to make the change effect it reverts to the 640*480. I have reloaded Windows 98 but it has not corrected the problems.

How do I delete the safe mode option from the start up and why am I unable to change the video settings?
