Hi,
I purchased my HP 4X CDRW writer about 7 months now. Previously, I had never had problems in writing small amounts of data. But recently I've tried my hands at burning a compliation CD (made up of all my favorite songs from my own collection, no piracy here), but it keeps freezing at around 6 songs (0r about the 180 megs area). When it did decide to give me an error message (using Easy CD Creator 1999 version) it says either (a) ASPI failure and (b) sometimes a buffer underrun. I own a Acer PII 300 Laptop and uses the HP USB CDRW 4X writer. Initially I thought it could just be a USB cable problem and purchased a new one, still had the freeze ups. I took it to a friend's place and it works fine on their PC. So what exactly is the problem, I tried all the suggested steps in the troubleshooting guide in the software to no avail. Even tried fiddling with the IRQs (at the suggestion of a friend, since my USB IRQ setting seems to be shared with another at 10) it only froze up my laptop. Help... |
