I own a Compaq Presario running Windows 98, and I wish to have more than one operating system. Its just that I would like to have a choice; which leads to the first question. What would be the best second OS to run with Win 98? And then I would need to know how to go about creating a dual boot machine? Do I need to partition the drive and install the second OS on a separate partition? And if so what would be the best partitioning program to use without having to format the hard drive? As I have no way of backing up the data that is there, is there a free program you can download to partition harddrives for Win 98? I have researched the FAT 32 dilema that Win 98 presents and my drive is FAT 32. Or do I even need to partition my drive in the first place. Any help is most appreciated. |
