| 7472 | 2000-12-10 06:13:00 | We have a 75 pentium with 16 mb RAM and 4 gb harddrive. We run Win 98 on it - slow and steady but it does work! We have just bought a new Pentium 833 (I think!) with 128 Ram and it will use Windows ME. We are intending to network the two. My questions are:- 1. I currently have Office 96 but the new system will have Office 2000. Will I be able to use Office 2000 from the old machine? Same goes for Publisher 98 etc. 2. Will we need to load all the software which is already on the old onto the new system so that it can be accessed from either computer? And Vice Versa, can we load the software from the new system onto the old? 3. Do we need to upgrade the RAM on the old system or will it all be fine as is? 4. Can someone please explain to this simpleton how the network works?? e.g. what does the old system take from the new system? I am rather confused. Thank you in advance for your help. Regards, Lynda |
