| 7564 | 2000-12-12 22:12:00 | My system hangs up /freezes when on the internet -after vaying length of time from as little as a few minutes. By hang-up I mean no activity, no response to keyboard or mouse - needs re-set button. This is ONLY since I upgraded to Win98SE from Win95. Microsoft have been unable to help although they have tried. Have , in desperation, formatted C Drive and reinstalled WIN98 SE clean. Still happens. Problem happens whether in browser, (IE5.5 or Netscape), or email, or even in Gozilla doing downloads. Suspect modem (LTWin Modem) so loaded latest driver (5.92) from web. The phone line isn't a very clean one - connects at 44k usually, sometimes lower) but never was and didn't give probs in Win95. System has not failed in anyother application. Any help out there ?? ta Alex |
