| 7634 | 2000-12-17 15:03:00 | Hi, I've spent fruitless days trying to enable DMA access for my BDV 108a DVD drive. I am using Win98 SE. There is no DMA check box in the settings tab for this device in Device Manager. I have accessed the microsft knowledgebase article Q229085 - 'Drive Does Not Have a DMA Check Box'. I got excited when I saw this but can't make it work. It says to update the driver for the hard disk controller with file Esdi_506.pdr but when I try to do this the dialog box expects an .inf file and when I try and force it to use Esdi_506.pdr by clearing *.inf from the filename box and typing in Esdi_506.pdr it says that this file does not contain information about my hardware. Can anyone deduce from the way that I have explained this what I might be doing wrong or another way to fix this problem? Thanks, Brett |
