7664 2000-12-19 21:28:00 I would like to make a suggestion, for you to print, at that time it was
costing
me four cents a minute to go on Internet. it all started just after I went
on Internet
someone sent me the ICQ program, and I was at home at lunch time with one
eye on the clock and one eye on the progress meter, I wished I never went to
check the Email in case I was late back at work. (anyway I thought the ICQ
program was not so good, and it really slowed my old 486 boot up time.)
if the person had of asked if I would like it, I would of said no.

In fact Netscape has a problem inserting text into Email not like Outlook
Express, as a result you get blank Emails and the text is attachment,
I ALWAYS DELETE these Emails, just in case it is a trick one.
And if I am at a Netscape program, I open up the text file and use copy &
paste
the text into the Email.

Virus programs can come in very small files sizes, But can also hide in
other
larger files that seem good, ALWAYS ASK before you send a large file by
Email (I have a 200 K file size limit) I always ask someone first if they
would like it,
A good example a few years ago, I had a sound WAVE file (*.WAV)
about 1 Meg I sent a Email to a Email friend in USA and asked if he would
like it, He replied saying NO, In Brief I was over the moon, it saved my
time (and cost) uploading a large file though Email and it saved him getting
cheesed off download a large file (and time), then finding it was something
he did not wish to have.

Also some people getting Email may have to share the phone line with someone
else and I know first hand, if you ask if you could go on line just for a
minute or
so to get Email and 15 minutes later you are still there because of a
unexpected
large Email, tension could rise and it makes it harder to use the line next
time.

Large files take time & money to download, Then sometimes it's a file we don't like, or
would be just as happy if we did not know about it. if we all started to ask 'I have a file, would you like it' before we randomly send it off, to every man and his dog. it may help to 'Auto-alert' us when we get that unexpected file containing a virus.
