| 1245390 | 2011-11-25 06:14:00 | HERE (www.techday.co.nz) "Vodafone has gone as far as claiming price drops have slowed since 2degrees became the countrys third mobile network in 2009". I wonder who's going to get what of the "new (4G) stuff"? |

| 1245391 | 2011-11-25 06:24:00 | Sour Grapes by Vodafone. If its any consolation, just got a email today from Telstra, all their internet plans are dropping in price as of 1st December. Some by quite a lot as well. Their top end plan drops BY $74 a month. The lower plan you have the less of a saving. |

Mind you, I'm on and older, basic plan - perhaps it only applies to "proper" plans :) |

I'm on 256 down 128 up, paying in 1GB chunks as I go. Currently I'm managing to stay below three gig's a month most of the time - it used to be <1 GB! "Bang for Buck" tho', the one's above are heaps better value!! Oh the joys of rural living! Maybe I'll get in touch with them and see what's on offer for those that of us that are slumming it - haven't done it for a while. Thanks Wainui |

| 1245396 | 2011-11-25 22:09:00 | its still over priced. Knew someone would say that -- but its not compared to some places. www.telecom.co.nz Its cheaper with Telstra. and at least you can talk to people who are actually able to speak and understand english. For the packages - Many people think its expensive only because its they see one single price. If you add in all the items its cheaper generally. I had Xtra AGAIN trying to match Clear a few weeks back. Heres what I asked them: What price would you charge per month for the following: Internet @ 15Mbs 90GB + Two phone Lines + answer phone + Three Cell phones on plans + TV + Additional Two programs Via Sky = They couldn't come even close, and they said they dont do TV I would have to get sky Separately, so even without sky, Xtra couldn't match Telstra. Im upgrading to to 120GB @25mbs next month, same price since 90GB /Month is not enough. (I work From home and use a lot of internet for customers PC's etc) Looking at Xtra's site, their top broadband plan 60GB + phone line = $105 Getting basic Sky on top of that $47.66 With Telstra Package LightSpeed 60GB Package $115.88 , you get Same amount of Data + phone line + Sky TV So with Telstra you are basically paying $10/moth for Sky. Edited; just did Xtra's calculator quickly, (in round figures) = Top Plan + 1 phone =$145 /month, then add in $47 for Sky = $194 Where as Telstra will be $135 Last time I looked $135 was less than $194. ;) |

| 1245398 | 2011-11-25 22:17:00 | with sky? thats better | Gobe1 (6290) | ||
| 1245399 | 2011-11-25 22:19:00 | I assume that these TelstraClear plans are on their cable service??yes--- Well thats what I have. Have not looked at the ADSL packages/options. With Telstra they have the options of Straight Internet if you want, or the packages. Xtra have it listed on their site as Internet & Phone Line. With Telstra Packages they usually have Internet, Phone and Sky. Some channels like the Pay Per View are not available with Telstra/ Sky, so you have to have a separate sky account with sky to get those. |
