| 1245380 | 2011-11-25 02:14:00 | Just had a call from a very well spoken person claiming to be from Google NZ :illogical Looked up my company Via Yellow pages, and noticed I had a web site listing -- Now for a cheap monthly, no fixed term contract fee of $65, if I signed up , my site would be at the top of the search lists for Computer Repairs - Wellington/lower Hutt. Guaranteed hit rate of a min 900 views per month -- oh and only 1 spot currently available in the lower Hutt area, which google promotions have allowed a company to be selected for this golden opportunity . Did I come down in the last shower or something ? |

| 1245383 | 2011-11-25 04:42:00 | Scam. Generally any Google search listing promotion for a business would be for their Adwords platform. It was free for a set budget, when I signed up. But to sign up for the promotion involved a series of pin numbers/password logins between myself and Google. Though you can get assigned account mangers, but I can't see them randomly calling up new clients. Of course there are other ways to list for free a business in Google using their properties and html coding, e.g. place pages, maps, rich snippet "markups", etc, and now supposedly with Google+ with their pages/brands feature, but involve a bit of work to get on page 1 for your business (or website) listing. Go to Google keyword tool (adwords.google.com), to check if any number of broad and exact searches for your business. | kahawai chaser (3545) | ||
