1244991 2011-11-23 01:22:00 They're not just bleeding road menaces - they cause flaming troubles on the cycle trails (www.nzherald.co.nz) as well.

I hope this doesn't delay completion of the cycle trail - our fearless leader, John Keyote, is relying on that to get the country back on it's feet. Don't worry too much, fortunately he has still got a few knighthoods to throw in the trough for the followers who haven't located their tax savings yet.

1244992 2011-11-23 01:34:00 So... how exactly does this relate to cyclists, who were not the ones working on the trail at the time? user (1404)
1244993 2011-11-23 01:48:00 Cycling is totally a system that doesn't work. R2x1 (4628)
1244994 2011-11-23 01:50:00 Or; no cyclists, no trail, no fire. (Can't blame John Keyote, too many lawsuits would ensue.) So the root cause is the Lycra squad. R2x1 (4628)

You might not want to say that to someone who biked to high school almost every day for 5 years ;)

Only because of the numbskull motoring brigade, and before anyone jumps on their high horse I Don't have a car through choice

And speaking as one who cycles about 15,000km a year, saving about $2000 in petrol, I think it does work.
I have also visited the Netherlands. You can't argue with success like theirs.

1244999 2011-11-23 02:49:00 The day of my 15th birthday I went and sat and passed my car drivers licence, 2 days later my motorcycle licence.
Never needed a bicycle again, this was Nelson, a windy hilly pig of a place to bike anyway.

Yeah but that place is flatter than the mirror in the hubble telescope
