I believe he either hosts from home or owns a VPS.Neither :p. It's hosted on a dedicated server (mine) in the Wellington CBD (colocated in somebody's server room on a 100M fibre connection). The ImageF1 site itself is inside an OpenVZ container, because it's *really* insecure (this is why it got kicked off the provider hueybot was hosting it with), and if ImageF1 is compromised again I don't want it affecting anything else on the same server. The recent downtime was caused by the business where the server is colocated - they decided to change their upstream ISP, and all their IP addresses, and didn't tell me about it. It took them three days to provision new IP addresses for me... I'll be moving the server to a 'real' datacentre sometime in the near future; I've had a gutsful of the place it's currently colocated with. |
