1268847 2012-04-10 05:07:00 I've just tried google's DNS server ips. And windowsupdate wouldnt / couldnt download MSE's updates. And some sites wouldnt load. As soon as I changed them back to TC's, windowsupdate worked, and so did the sites

Those are Google ip addresses

Thanks Speedy :)

1268848 2012-04-10 06:50:00 What's your chrome homepage?
That's just alternating between their primary and secondary DNS servers, that's all. See here: developers.google.com

It's set as a new tab. Sometimes the GMail tab is left at the top. I'll change it to something else and see what happens with that.

Thanks Chill

1268850 2012-04-10 09:55:00 DNS won't affect the speed at which you open a new tab and see the "grid" of your 8 most popular sites. It will affect Gmail up the top-left, but being Google it *ought* to be real quick. Chilling_Silence (9)
1268851 2012-04-10 20:47:00 Hi Chill and Speedy

Before I installed Open DNS I forgot to make a note of Telstra's settings (). What are they so that I can switch back and do some comparisons?

Thanks

1268852 2012-04-11 02:57:00 Based on here: www.telstraclear.co.nz

You will then need to Enter the TelstraClear DNS Servers. For the “Primary DNS Server” Enter 203.97.78.43, and for the ”Secondary DNS Server” Enter 203.97.78.44
