1268765 2012-04-07 22:34:00 Personally I've seen quite a few Belkins fail after a short time, not necessarily that model. Wouldn't really recommend them all the same. wainuitech (129)
1268766 2012-04-08 00:24:00 +1 to not getting a Belkin, rather get one of THESE (www.dicksmith.co.nz). WarNox (8772)
1268767 2012-04-08 01:45:00 Thanks - Wainui - what would you recommend?

WarNox - was looking at that as well (thanks)

1268768 2012-04-08 02:12:00 The Linksys aren't to bad, not had much trouble from customers who use them. For a while now I have been using the Netgear range, they seem to work OK, I did use Netcomms, but started last year seeing way to many failures are 3-4 months of usage. wainuitech (129)

1268770 2012-04-08 03:15:00 After some research I found Modem router option was recommended by most people for flexibility and reliability.
What does everyone think about Dratek Vigor 120 and TP-Link TL-WR1043ND

1268771 2012-04-08 04:31:00 I'll echo Wainuitechs sentiments about Belkins failing after a wee while. Not had much better luck with those Linksys models either. Linksys are great at JUST wifi models or JUST dsl models but can't seem to put the two together well enough.

The DV-120 is nothing short of amazing, top of the line reliability, and the PPPoA -> PPPoE bridging is superb. Run it to a device running Gargoyle or Tomato.

If those Linksys are the same model that Gargoyle recommends just ensure its not the v2.4 model which is currently unsupported. Otherwise they have a great amount of memory, solid all around performer and priced very competitively! :-)
