1268715 2012-04-06 23:04:00 Couple weeks ago, sister spilled juice or something onto her netbook keyboard. She was studying at the time so didn't want me to take it apart and break it, so she's been using my wireless keyboard and mouse in the meantime.

Since it's now the holidays, she still doesn't want me to take it apart, so I ask who would be best to go through to get it fixed? It's an HP mini type thing, and naturally being spilled not under warranty. Would it be easiest to go through HP, the store she bought it from (noel leeming) or a technician like one of you lot, and how much is it likely to cost, approximately?

I mean, I had a look around and I realise it's possible to clean the keyboard off and have it work fine enough, but that's not exactly possible unless she'll let me take it apart. Which probably won't happen unless the cost is prohibitively expensive.

1268716 2012-04-07 00:37:00 Anyone that deals with laptops, the HP minis are a very easy to replace. I'd expect 60-100 for the keyboard and probably minimum charge from the repairer so say 60-90 for that. Don't take it to the retailer. Alex B (15479)

1268719 2012-04-07 04:16:00 That's why people need to use an Adkaf ! Digby (677)
1268720 2012-04-07 04:52:00 Adkaf?
Is that similar to a Merkin?
