1245117 2011-11-24 03:00:00 Hi guys,

As you all know, Saturday is election day. The Electoral Commission has rules about what can and can't be posted on the day, and PC World could get a rather large fine as the publisher of your comments ($20,000). Basically there's no campaigning on election day, by anyone, anywhere, while the polls are open.

So we want to ask you all to please refrain from any commentary on the forum that could be construed as campaigning for any party on Saturday, until 7pm. To be safe, it's probably best to refrain from talking about the election beyond the fact that you voted until 7pm, at which point you can express your opinions to your hearts' content. We know the Commission's rules are a bit outdated in the internet age, but it would be great if we could all respect it anyway, as it will make life a lot easier for the mods. We're going to be deleting any potentially-dodgy posts and if anyone decides to be a troll and make life tough for the mods, they'll be banned for three days.

We're going to be locking all election-related threads late Friday night. The other option was to shut down the forums entirely for the day, which you don't want, and we don't want either!

Thanks in advance because I know you'll all be good, right? ;)
