| 8064 | 2001-01-18 11:38:00 | Can anybody please tell me if a virus can totally destroy your hard drive. My brothers kids were playing a game and the computer (10 months old) went haywire. He took it back to the shop and they said all his files had been saved but his root directory was gone and his 20 gig hard drive was irrepairable, and that the culprit was probably a virus. If it was a virus would it not still be on the hard drive, as well as the files they managed to save? Seems odd to me . |
