I have purchased a new motherboard VA-503+ running AMD K6 2-333CPU and 64MG RAM. The hard disk is not recognised but otherwise the computer boots up fine. Shows a 'A' floppy drive, CD Rom correctly but no hard drive. It is on auto detect. I have taken another drive from a working PC and connected that to no avail. Works fine when put back into its true home. Fitted new cable - no adjustment. When cable on wrong way then HDD light stays on. Is there any other settings on the motherboard I should be changing or is it just a faulty motherboard and is not recognising the primary IDE as Secondary IDE is obviously working fine. Pins on motherboard appear to be straight and all present. Any help appreciated.
