8068 2001-01-18 23:57:00 Is there a way to save the active cell and scroll bar position in a non-active worksheet in MS Excel 2000? Saving a number of workbooks as a workspace will save the active cell and scroll bar position in each of the active worksheets in each of the workbooks (in addition to saving the window size and position of each workbook). However, I have not been able to find a way to save and reopen the desired active cell and scroll bar position in each of the non-active worksheets; on re-opening, the active cell defaults to cell A1 in all worksheets except for the worksheet saved as the active one. What this means in practice is that there can be far too many workbooks to open -- in my main workspace, which I use for day-to-day business accounting, I have 8 workbooks (some of which have more than worksheet). To juggle 8 workbooks, they need to be kept to the minimum possible size, and need to be very carefully positioned, even on a 19? monitor, in order to ensure that they are all accessible. It would be far tidier to have less workbooks and more worksheets, but it is far too long-winded to have to scroll down the page in each of the non-active worksheets, in order to find the requisite cell. I realise that if I knew VBA it would be possible to write a macro to find the first empty cell in a particular row or column, but even this seems a very clumsy way to solve the problem. Is there an easier solution? Guest (0)
