| 8152 | 2001-01-25 09:08:00 | I have a hard drive that has bad sectors. I tried a clean out of stuff and now gwt a lot of problems due to missing files- the main one being C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\OLEATU32.DLL Keeps coming up when opening virtually anything. IE5/ Wordpad etc being two recent ones due to that missing file.I have tried re-installing windows 98 but it won't install cos it makes it do a scan disk from DOS that never seems to finish(8 hours worth). It says there are 4 or 5 bad clusters in the diagram thing. Except for buying a new hard drive is there any way to make things easier until I do such as partitioning off those clusters etc?.Any help out there. Cheers |
