| 8124 | 2001-01-22 11:38:00 | I have upgraded to an ASUS VZ3000 AGP card from a Diamond Speedstar on a Win98 system (AMD K6-500). There is now an error whenever the graphics card Properties is selected: 'An error occurred while Windows was working with the Control panel File C:\Windows\System\Desk.cpl'. The card is working properly, with no conflicts, but I can't change any of the card settings either through the taskbar, desktop, or control panel. I have reinstalled Win98, changed back to the old card, and changed to a backup of the Registry files - nothing has removed the error and allowed access to the card settings. Any help would be appreciated as the next option is to reformat and reinstall all my apps. which I would rather not have to do. Thanks |
