| 8187 | 2001-01-28 02:37:00 | I was using MicroSoft ICS to connect my computers at home to the internet, but found it far to flaky for reliable operation. Eventually ICS stopped working altogether, so I gave up on ICS and bought myself a network switch and Internet/Printer Server with external modem. This setup works great as design intended - but missing a few features I would have liked to retained, only available with DUN. The biggest problem I am facing is that by the time the server has connected to the ISP, OE or IE (thinking that they are permanently connected via the LAN) give up waiting and offer up error of either 'host not found' or 'web page not available' (or words to that effect). How do I set OE and IE to wait for a longer period of time before giving up? |
