| 1270004 | 2012-04-14 10:30:00 | Looks good, what PSU? Maybe consider the new Z77 boards, just because they are newer and have a couple nice features (USB 3.0 onboard and PCIe 3.0) www.computerlounge.co.nz for example. no real difference as far as performance goes. If you want to give it the wow factor consider a 120 - 240G SSD, the bootup and program load times are great, it doesn't actually help game performance at all but it makes the PC feel much quicker in general. Also that's a fairly mid range graphics card, it'll game well on a single monitor at 1080P but if you game a lot maybe go a bit higher up the performance ladder. Also the 2500K is an awesome CPU but if you never plan on overclocking and don't care about quicksync any i5 will perform more or less the same in games so you could save a couple dollars (although personally I wouldn't :) ) I've been conservative on mine and only used the gigabyte easy tune 6 utility to overclock, but even so it hit's 4.1 Ghz effortlessly and is rock solid. |

| 1270007 | 2012-04-14 21:58:00 | www.computerlounge.co.nz yep it's a good case but no it doesn't come with a PSU. Even if it did you shouldn't use the PSU's that come with bundles you should get a good one. It gets repeated it seems like every 2nd day on these forums, Don't use Cheap PSU's! Go for Corsair or one of the other good brands. Otherwise you seem pretty decided on the parts, considering you picked all the same stuff again :p |

| 1270012 | 2012-04-15 02:31:00 | if your getting the 2500k then get a hyper 212 evo. not the 212 +, it i a pain in the arse for applying thermal grease. my 2500k is at a solid oc at 4.3ghz and doesnt even get over 50c when i stress tested for about 8 hours. And chaz a 7970 seems like a bit of a price leap considering its like 3 times the price. And the prices of the 7950/70 are going down in price every week. Infact i feel a bit stupid cos my 7950 was more expensive than most 7970's on the market now. But hey eventually you got to bite the bullet and buy the thing. but 6970 wouldnt be a bad idea, its not very old and is going down in price. | Slankydudl (16687) | ||
