1246931 2011-12-03 23:03:00 Try these addons/scripts for forum searches on Press F1 (or any web site), that won't work, e.g. because the search term is too short. They are based on the Google site (googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com) operator and mostly Firefox. Google will display all results based on your search at the site level. Then maybe refine (e.g. by date, difficulty, etc) by using the more search tools on the L/H side in Google.

1. The easiest is Milly's Bookmarklets (www.imilly.com) - Select and drag the Google Site Search label into your book marks, then highlight/double click any word on the page you are on and click the bookmark.
2. The search selected (addons.mozilla.org) addon - This uses assigned short cut key (c) for site search, amongst other short cuts for web, video's, etc.
3. A Greasemonkey script, where you can site search amongst several sub-domains for your term from the page you are on. Basic review here (www.searchenginejournal.com), then follow the link(s) to install (requires Greasemonkey). You don't need to highlight a word on the page- just enter in the box in the dialog box.

If the word you want to search for is absent on the page, then create it in the forum search box, press enter to display it, then click it to use in 1 and 2 above. You might want to bookmark the results pages for future reference.
