| 1246956 | 2011-12-03 22:26:00 | Put a windup sat dish in camper, previously had one that stuck to window pain in the arse to setup. Its for freeview aligned to Optus D1. It works alright but the elevation is maxed out its end of the thread cant bend anything or file out any stops. Be ok if I never go North of Auckland. Camper is level I jacked it laterally level with spirit level and its level of fore and aft. Taking it out isnt an option its riveted and sealed its staying there heaven of high water. Asked importer, he said well dont go North which does not help much. Stupid inclometer on aerial says its at almost 50 degrees but Auckland elevation is around 44.5 deg. The one I used to stick on the window I had to file out the slots with a chain saw file to get more elevation in Bay of Islands. My question after this ramble is: Can I put some washers under the bottom of the dish bolt to angle it out, this would alter the angle to the LNB I guess is that a biggy? Any help from knowledgeable people would be appreciated. |

| 1246961 | 2011-12-04 18:45:00 | One option may be to drill out the rivets and get a tapered plate (wedge) made up to go between caravan and base, then re-rivet or use self-tapping coach bolts. The only problem I can foresee, is not knowing what the rivets are attached to on the caravan .... any chance you can get to have a look from the inside ? | SP8's (9836) | ||

| 1246965 | 2011-12-05 08:49:00 | Sorted it this evening put 3 1/4" washers .025" thick under the bottom screw and a piece of 250mph tape between the hinge on the LNB. Quality increased by 5% and I still have almost 2 winds of the elevation handle for going up North. Thanks for all help. |
