1245873 2011-11-27 04:06:00 I copied this sentance from the newspaper a few minutes ago.

Louise Upston was measured after receiving news she had taken the Taupo electorate for the National Party again.

1245875 2011-11-27 04:43:00 I suspect that the reporter meant that LU was composed, or showed a measured response to the news - i.e. she wasn't going overboard with joy, not gloating about her losing opponent etc. Perhaps restrained may have been a better word. No doubt the dorks that pass for reporters these days expected her to be turning cartwheels.

I don't think it means 36 - 24 - 36 kind of measurements...

1245879 2011-11-27 07:07:00 The media hadn't already invaded her privacy so the reporter took her measurements wotz (335)
1245880 2011-11-27 07:37:00 Thesaurus gives the word restrained as a synonym for measured. Perhaps that is what is meant. tut (12033)
1245881 2011-11-27 10:03:00 Maybe she needed to be measured for the new clothing she will need when entering Parliament? :D Bobh (5192)
