1245921 2011-11-28 05:04:00 Because there is nothing they can do. Its an auction .
Im guessing these are re-manufactured/repaired phones from China. ??

They look like to me just 2nd hand phones dropped off that might have been tested with the power on button.

His occupation is listed as a "student". And how else does he get this much goods to sell ......

I doubt he is a "student" I know he is 31 years old. Even if he is a student he is just drop shipping the items anyway. Hence the 2-3 week wait time.

I just got a response from him.

"Am I the manufacturer?
ill get back to you with an address to send it back to."

Last time I checked the selller/retailer had to deal with this. Anyone got a piece of legislation I can shove in front of him?

1245923 2011-11-28 05:24:00 Keep up the good detective work. Obviously with feedback like that Trademe need to ban the turkey. Then give me a call I know some people (including me) who would love to pay him a visit & beat the living daylights out of him! Can't stand dodgy & shoddy traders. fnphoto (2434)

Nowhere did he say he gives any warranty.
And in any case, retailers do have to provide warranty - he isn't a retailer however.

have to say I always read feedback before buying something. not 100% isn't the issue, I read the red ones and see who was at fault, pretty screamingly obvious in this case - wouldn't have gone near hm if you paid me to.

Looking at the bidding, it seems the world is full of fools.

A person's regular occupation, profession, or trade.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I would say that he is acting as a sole trader...

1245927 2011-11-28 08:13:00 I have the same phone and same problem. I found the problem by replacing the battery. I first bought a cheap one from ebay, then if you let the battery run out, it would not turn back on /charge. Only keypad light comes on. An original battery would probably work, but I haven't tried and have moved onto another phone now.

So obviously, that phone is fake which is probably why it is not working (Fake battery contributes also + looking at feedback)...

I wonder how much interest the Taxman takes in people like this?

1245930 2011-11-28 17:04:00 I buy and sell on Trademe
But I would not buy technology items from TM
And indeed a small survey I did on here a year ago said that most PF1 members would buy technology from B&M stores (online) where at least you should be able to return the item.

But I do agree that TM are not very good at enforcing their rules.
And drop shipping is a huge business on ebay.
