2012-04-19 10:51:00 | Just try to recognise things that really do need to run all the time like security, traffic monitoring etc and heave everything else. You can always add something back in if you need to. Most systems I look at only need a couple of startups. Chopping a dozen out is not uncommon! | linw (53) | |
2012-04-19 10:56:00 | Delete the 2nd / 4th / 6th entry . That netsession entry looks suss. If its running from documents and settings. Is that netsession entry in the %LocalAppData%\Akamai folder? Delete the VX3000 entry you dont need it in startup. Use ccleaner and delete them in startup. Then reboot | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |

Is that netsession entry in the %LocalAppData%\Akamai folder? Delete the VX3000 entry you dont need it in startup. Use ccleaner and delete them in startup. Then reboot I've disabled 2/4/6 and the netsession entry which was Akamai, god only knows how that got there. I also updated and ran Spybot as a precaution but no problems were found. I updated CCleaner as well but haven't run it as yet as I'm not sure if it is relevant to this issue, but I'm wide open to suggestions. Is it safe to run its registry cleaner? After all of that I rebooted and the same problem exists. What worries me most is that the MSE firewall doesn't come on until the boot sequence finally finishes, the rest is just a once or occasionally twice a day nuisance delay of about 30 seconds. It was slow like this once before, but that was in conjunction with my System Tray issue and when I fixed that, the boot time was reduced dramatically. However, the System Tray remains fixed, so there are no options there! Cheers Billy 8-{) |

2012-04-20 00:38:00 | I have a similar problem. I have found by trial and error that just turning the router off and on fixes it. | Tony (4941) | |
2012-04-20 02:47:00 | Wainui said to add an IP address, have you done that Not yet, I've no idea how to do that, however simple it may be, and I always research before making such changes. However, I'm preparing for a business trip to Oz next week and have to keep to the essentials and stick with what I know and understand. The last thing I need right now is to lose myinternet access because of some bungle! The big question is where do I get another IP addy, or is it automatic. The answers to either of these questions does not seem to be available in the network connections box. Cheers Billy 8-{)
