1269384 2012-04-11 12:06:00 So go into the BIOS and tell it to beep again then.

Good answer, but how?

1269385 2012-04-11 12:10:00 Have you lost the manual for the BIOS? Snorkbox (15764)
1269386 2012-04-11 12:13:00 You could always just make a 'beep' noise with your mouth at the appropriate time ...:) fred_fish (15241)

1269388 2012-04-11 19:21:00 My new computer doesn't beep on startup. The builders have either forgotten to connect the speaker or haven't turned it on in the bios. I'm actually not worried about it, just as long as it starts when I push the on button.

1269389 2012-04-11 22:26:00 My Z68XP doesn't beep either. I wonder if it's related to Gigabyte's Quick Boot utility?

If I connect my monitor to integrated graphics (which is turned on in BIOS along with a separate graphics card) I don't even get a POST screen. Now that's disconcerting

1269390 2012-04-11 22:48:00 But it did BEEP before.

I know that (it seems) Gigabyte has this issue, as my other MB (also Gigabyte) has similar symptom.

1269391 2012-04-11 23:03:00 I remember it happened once a few months ago but I can't remember what I did to bring back the beep.

About over-clocking, the only thing I did was enabled 'Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.) for the memory modules.

It boots OK.

ah, so it was overclocked :p
I wouldnt loose sleep if lack of beep is the only issue & it runs OK

You are spot-on. It is indeed the Quick Boot. Disabled and it beeps normally now. :)

Thanks
