| 1270162 | 2012-04-15 05:24:00 | Need a bit of help here please. In IE and Chrome when a search is done, results come up OK but when a link is clicked I get taken to a random? site. Car insurance, gifts etc. The PC was suffering from the Smart HDD malware which it seems to be partly cured from but maybe not completely. I've managed to "show" the icons that were hidden but not sure if all is OK. Here is ths HJ log anyway. | 1270163 | 2012-04-15 05:42:00 | Is this what youre seeing? (www.bleepingcomputer.com). Get this file (www.bleepingcomputer.com) I would use something better than Symantec for a start Tick these these then tick fix checked. Close browser/s first I would uninstall Systemcare too. | 1270164 | 2012-04-15 21:38:00 | Thanks for that Speedy. It's my ex neighbours computer so I don't have much choice on software installed. Will give those fixes a try and see how it goes. Cheers. | bones (10257) | ||

| 1270166 | 2012-04-16 02:51:00 | Speedy, why do you recommend uninstalling Advanced SystemCare 5? I have been using it for several years in various forms and have never had a problem with it. The program seems to be successful in finding things which need attention. | Richard (739) | ||
