| 1269734 | 2012-04-13 00:10:00 | A pal in Aus has a home office using a Belkin N1 vision about 3 years old. Its been quite reliable with loss of internet (ethernet) to his main PC about 1x a week if that. The problem is he has a typical teenage family with everything wireless and at last count the added connections are variously netbook, laptop, pc (wireless usb dongle), TV, and 3x ipods Many in the family complain about loss of connection, droputs etc which as we all know with teenagers while doing important stuff like gaming can be quite stress invoking. These dropouts are said to be 3-4 times a day. He can occassionally see another neighbours signal, quite weak, so has changed frequencies to see if that helps. No change detected since moving the cordless phone to other areas of the house either. Signal strengths from one end of the house to the other is said to be good. Anyway - pretty hard to help from this far away The Belkin is not getting such good reviews and he is of a mind to buy something else in hope of solving this wireless issue. To save me a few hours research I wonder if any of our talent here could chuck a few brand and model numbers at me to consider recommending he purchase please? |

| 1269735 | 2012-04-13 00:27:00 | If he has the money then he could buy a linksys e4200v2 this is a dual band router which runs at 450mbps+450mbps at 2.4 & 5Ghz if you want something cheaper then get the linksys e4200 which runs at 300mbps+450mbps or else just search for dual band router. belkin also makes them too. |

My old belkin, and another one that I can't remember the name of both overheated and crapped out as soon as you stuck any heavy loads on it. My new netcomm is working beautifully, even when I've got both my pc and laptop running say, tf2 or one tf2 and one youtube. | 8ftmetalhaed (14526) | ||
