| 1247155 | 2011-12-05 07:48:00 | Does anyone have BBC World via 90cm satellite dish to Intelsat 5 and now have no signal? My signal disappeared sometime last Friday and there doesn't seem to be any problem with the setup. Up till now it has been absolutely great having BBC World free-to-air; (no Sky fees ) the only inconvenience a 90cm dish, especially with all the rubbish on TVNZ. ...since 2009 had great reception, (also brings in Australian TV ) but now it looks like Intelsat 5 has dropped out of the sky. Any thoughts? maybe it is still receiving on a 1.2metre dish but so many people have gone for the 90cm that there must be others out there with the similar dilemma? |

| 1247159 | 2011-12-07 15:33:00 | BBC World and Australia Network on IS5 Problem (Via Freeviewshop.co.nz) There was a major problem with Intelsat’s Hawaii uplink to IS-5 Asia Pacific on Friday 2nd December between 04:30 and 06:16 GMT. The IS-5 signal was temporarily uplinked by GlobeCast in Sydney and is now currently being uplinked from Intelsat’s Napa, California facility. This is, however, also a temporary arrangement until they are happy that the issues at the Hawaii uplink have been resolved to their satisfaction. At that point, the uplink will revert back to Hawaii. Once back to the Hawaii uplink we should have the same EIRP as we did prior to the problems on Friday and service should be restored. |
