1247066 2011-12-04 21:54:00 I got a text from vodacrap at the end of last month stating I was just about to blow my 100mb cap for data on my phone. I'm thinking its fraud on their part. Metla (12)
1247067 2011-12-04 22:19:00 I only have a 2.4 screen on my Samsung so I don't use it as much as I could. But still useful, and chews through about 80Mb a month. WalOne (4202)
1247068 2011-12-04 22:27:00 Things really only get useful when you get a decent screen, both in terms of size and quality. Couldn't go back to the likes of the Vodafone 845 after having seen what a huge difference even the Vodafone 858 is. Personally I've got a Galaxy S, use it all the time :)

I usually chew through 500MB -> 800MB a month. Have a 1G data cap.

1247069 2011-12-04 22:46:00 I have alternated between 500MB, 1GB and 2GB plans but as I've finished school and I'm on holiday I didn't bother paying for more as everywhere I go at the moment basically has wifi.
Although I'm off to wellington next week for nationals so I might buy 1GB incase the motel has no wifi.

1247070 2011-12-04 23:15:00 I can get BB on mine, but its not a smartphone. Its prepaid. So, I dont pay anything extra. Only thing that can happen is I ran out of credit Speedy Gonzales (78)

What is the cost of a gig?

1247072 2011-12-05 00:47:00 A 2GB plan on the phone which I have to manage carefully during the second half of the month (I tether my Pad Transformer to the phone when required, as well as using the phone as it is intended to be used when I am out and about) and I often use nearly the full 2GB. I also have a dongle with a 1GB plan which SWMBO usually uses when she visits her parents (the outlaws) - this doesn't get a lot of use...

@Cicero - don't know what the per GB costs are as it is built into the phone plan with voice minutes and text.

1247073 2011-12-05 01:26:00 It's such a rip off I avoid it by not having any mobile internet access at all. pctek (84)
1247074 2011-12-05 02:23:00 I use around 50~200Mb a month, I'm very annoyed at the "expiry" of data blocks though. Total rip off IMO, in reality you pay for "up to" xxx mb because you don't get a discount for using less and you can't use it after the end of the month.

Regular broadband caps annoy me for the same reason, wouldn't it be nice if you could save up unused monthly data for that big download you know you have coming rather than having to pay for excess usage after being 10G or more under your cap for months.......
