1246690 2011-12-02 00:17:00 How's their free weekend (www.youtube.com) going to work out? Will it buckle under the loading? Lot's of HD watching and downloading for those with the bandwidth no doubt. Is it a honeypot to trap illicit movie downloading.

They haven'y been full in your face with it. We with them but I'm not aware of having received a "personal" e-mail telling me about it, but then, the account is in the wife's name and she's not renowned for checking either of her e-mail boxes regularly.

I phoned them this morning to ask exactly when it was on, and I was put on hold by the Help desker while she found out! :illogical

When I looked at the TV ad in the link above that does have the times on it, but they kind of don't stand out under the Heavy Metal lettering when it's played on our (crap) TV

1246692 2011-12-02 01:36:00 Its on the telstra site, from 6pm tonight till midnight sunday. And I did receive an email about it. I guess if you dont pay for it, you wont get an email Speedy Gonzales (78)
1246693 2011-12-02 01:42:00 They have just reduced all the plans in cost as well as of yesterday, so maybe they have put in some new equipment as well and what to "give it hell" as a test -- What a better way to do it -- Maybe they can be "real nice" and open the taps as well -- wind the speed up to its max :banana

Let you know later -- got close to 30GB of rather large (all legit) programs I want to download.

1246694 2011-12-02 02:02:00 Too bad it doesnt apply to all plans. It doesnt apply to Homeplan Speedy Gonzales (78)

1246696 2011-12-02 04:01:00 I'm loaded up and ready to press go in just under an hour. Twelvevolts (5457)
1246697 2011-12-02 04:20:00 Too bad it doesnt apply to all plans. It doesnt apply to Homeplan

When I spoke "to the lady" she said "it applies to all residential customers", so what's with this Homeplan bizzo 'cos I've arranged all sorts of Skype hookups on the strength of it. I'm on some old PDQ plan - 256 down, 128 up, in 1 gig chunks (I know!). :stare:

1246698 2011-12-02 04:28:00 The unmetered is for all. The lower prices is for inhome customers (cable I think it is), not the homeplan customers Speedy Gonzales (78)
1246699 2011-12-02 05:02:00 Havent they got some new "Free for 12 months" plan or somethin? Chilling_Silence (9)
