1470228 2020-07-12 22:10:00 Hi

what's the difference of " How do you feel?" and " How are you feeling?"

Thanks!

1470229 2020-07-12 22:35:00 "How do you feel?" carries the connotation of a demand; as in a doctor speaking to you, whereas "how are you feeling?" carries a more sympathetic tone of concern as if from a family member or a friend asking. zqwerty (97)

1470231 2020-07-13 14:56:00 English is so confusing, so here is my attempt to answer this.

How are you feeling? is asking about a state that may have happened or is in the process of becoming, as in it could refer to past, present and can continue to future.

How do you feel? is seen as present and is also the current state of what you are feeling.

How are you feeling? I am/was feeling sick.

How do you feel? I feel sick.

How do you feel? I feel sick.

So what about some nuances to complicate things:

How do you feel? Feel me for yourself.

How do you feel? With discretion.

Kame, you're not the only one this language confuses

1470233 2020-07-20 17:53:00 “How do you feel now” is more likely to refer to a predominant feeling over the span of a recent time interval up to the present, while “how are you feeling now” more likely refers to an immediate feeling. ClarissaBull (17712)
1470234 2020-08-03 04:54:00 Thank you for these responses, I think that I understand now. DanceMonkey (17711)
1470235 2020-08-03 13:47:00 Most of the time they are used interchangeably, but there is a small difference in some contexts. ... “How do you feel now” is more likely to refer to a predominant feeling over the span of a recent time interval up to the present, while “how are you feeling now” more likely refers to an immediate feeling.I am Rout Lita working in a digital marketing agency in Dubai (https://www.digitalexpress.agency/) named D.igital Express Agency.
