| 1470102 | 2020-07-07 02:24:00 | How to get rid of 'air-lock' in pipes? I don't know how the air got trapped in our pipes. Immediately after I flushed the toilet, I could hear the air in the pipe is making annoying noise. Is there any easy way to get the air out? It's been bothering me quite a while now. Or, I need to get in a plumber? |

| 1470103 | 2020-07-07 03:09:00 | Get a lot of it here tooo. We go to the furthermost outside tap and turn it on full bore, then we do the next furthermost and so on to the front of the house. It makes quite a blast at every tap, so watch it. lurking. |

| 1470105 | 2020-07-07 04:45:00 | The problem is the house’s plumbing configuration, and usually occurs when part of the supply line is above the highest tap (outlet). Google “Water Hammer” and you will find plenty written on the matter. But I’m picking you will need a plumber, even if only to fit a Water Hammer valve. |

That's going to be a big bill. Generally that's how it goes, sometimes you cant find a problem. Look at from the plumbers point of View, he's worked X number hours, if that was you would you still expect to be paid ? IF you can reproduce the problem each time it would be easier to solve. That's the same as Computer fault finding 3/4 of the work can be finding the problem. One plumber, I do his Computer work, was telling me one day a lady was having banging pipes like described, they spent days off and on trying to find the problem, :confused: they couldn't reproduce the fault no matter what they did, then one day it happed while they were there and it was tracked down to the neighbors house causing the Airlock. |

| 1470110 | 2020-07-07 09:25:00 | bk T try running the highest cold water tap for 5 minutes or so. It may not fix your problem but if it does you will save a plumbers fees at the cost of a few litres of water. I might add that that has worked for me a couple of times. | CliveM (6007) | ||
| 1470111 | 2020-07-07 10:23:00 | Usually air gets trapped in hot water lines because of the lower pressure. If it is trapped in the cold water line, which is odd, then is the cold water pressure too low? Since the pressure in the cold water line is usually strong enough to push air out. If the cold water is hammering, it is most likely an issue with pressure rather than air lock. |
