Queensland chief health officer Dr Jeannette Young has shared some of the long-term effects of the virus after patients have been declared Covid-free.
In a video shared to Queensland Health's Twitter account, she explains that while coronavirus is a "mild" disease, people aren't fully recovered once they return a negative test.
"As we learn more about the virus, we're learning that for a reasonable number of people, they don't recover, they'll have long-term consequences from the disease," she said.
"That's because this virus doesn't just affect the lungs; unlike flu, this virus can affect every part of the body."

1471116 2020-08-29 06:59:00 The Commie cow is more interested in the Communist party returning to power than Aucklanders health. There should be no return to L2 while we still have new cases from the Polynesian cluster in Auckland. There was one thing the health dept didnt want a cluster of black Covid19s in South Auckland. Its happened we are buggered. prefect (6291)
1471117 2020-08-29 09:15:00 In the future we will rue the day that Auckland dropped down to level 2, the start of the real epidemic in NZ.

They haven't got this series of clusters under control yet but because of business pressure they are going to open up again, really silly move.

We should block off the South Island from the North Island until they get their sh!t together.

After a brief period at level 2 we'll probably all have to go back to level 4 again for an extended period.

1471118 2020-08-29 19:07:00 With Cindy it's all been about Politic's as we get closer to the Election.

No way should there be a relaxation to level 2 with cases still been found with free travel outside of Auckland and the potential spread will have serious consequences with a massive backlash

Should be another week at least at level 3 in Auckland

1471119 2020-08-29 19:17:00 Apparently she's making an announcement at 1pm today. Will be worth listening to. Reneging on L2 for Auckland will cause a huge uproar, even though it's the right thing to do. allblack (6574)
1471120 2020-08-29 20:16:00 Lockdowns have not achieved anything to prevent the virus anywhere else in the world. Why should we expect it to be any different here? CliveM (6007)
1471121 2020-08-29 20:57:00 To me common sense says if you have a city of the unclean, you don't let them loose around the general population until they become clean again. allblack (6574)
1471122 2020-08-29 21:15:00 To me common sense says if you have a city of the unclean, you don't let them loose around the general population until they become clean again.

It is far to late to worry about that. You can guarantee that if we tested the entire population that cases would be found all over the place most of which would be unknown to those who have it.

The whole business is just about politicians trying to be seen to be doing something. Unfortunately they are killing the economy in the process.

Having said that I am in full agreement with those who feel unwell staying at home and for everyone to follow common sense hygiene procedures. Exactly the way that we should always behave to avoid passing on or catching any disease.

1471123 2020-08-29 23:00:00 There is no other viable solution than total lock-down if the virus gets away on you, it seems as if you are not reading the same news as me

1471124 2020-08-30 00:00:00 Virus reporting is exactly the same as Climate Change reporting was/is in that you can find both news and experts to support any view you wish to hold particularly if you deliberately ignore anything which does not suit that view. It also helps if you are prepared to ignore all the times the powers that be change their minds and we find that what they told you was true yesterday is reversed today. I will not bore you with a long list of examples as I am quite certain that anyone with the ability to think can find plenty for themselves. CliveM (6007)
