Error Code: 6007

I have both ticked and unticked DRM in Firefox. Tried Chrome, same issue.
I have down the Linux Hal fix, didn't help at all.

I have disabled the one and only add-on (Ublock).

So now what? It tries....after the Hal fix....I get ads playing behind the error screen but that's as far as it goes.
And yes it IS the latest browser, which TVNZ unhelpfully suggest.

Did a bit more looking up, and it appears there is a problem with Linux and TV on demand, been happening for years now, even at least one post on PF1

1464761 2019-11-01 01:32:00 Right-O Found the problem and sorted it. :nerd:

It only played up in linux (I installed the latest)

When playing in Firefox it errored. Installed Slimjet Browser for Linux, played perfectly. www.slimjet.com Linux links are under "Show all platforms"

Picture on the left is FF with error, on right slimjet browser:

After having another look, there was a yellow popup along the top of firefox asking to enable DRM, which I did and after that TVNZ ondemand also played in FF perfectly.

No popup in FF, DRM is allowed.
But whatever...the other browser works.

Its a little weird really since Slimjet is based on Chrome and you tried that, maybe something slightly different under the bonnet - as long as it works :)

1464765 2019-11-01 11:59:00 I've been watching TVNZ On Demand for years without problems using Chrome in Linux (currently Kubuntu 18.04). There were issues some years ago necessitating the use of HAL, etc but not now. Firefox and Chrome have the DRM requirements built-in these days.

I just tried TVNZ On Demand in Firefox (70.0) and I was having issues navigating the site, I think the privacy tracking in Firefox is over zealous and causing issues as I couldn't access "My Favourites" using the menu for some reason. The videos played without problems though.
