1488580 2022-09-30 06:54:00 Hello all PressF1'ers,

Some sad news.

The forum owners Foundry (formerly IDG / NZ PC World) have notified me that they will be moving the local ANZ sites to a USA based content management system. Unfortunately this means local sites and infrastructure will close down and they will no longer be able to host PressF1.

They expect this to happen in the next 3-4 months. I wanted to give some advanced notice of this event so no one is caught by surprise. I will update you all with an actual date for the forum closure once this information is available.

Yours sincerely,
Jen

The good thing about this forum it doesn't have the woke moderation that takes place on Geekzone.

1488588 2022-10-01 04:24:00 As an elderly member, i have not had much to contribute, but have had a lot of help over the years. I will be sorry to see the forum close, and find that reading other's posts most helpful at times.

As a point of interest, in 1962, I was involved in testing a program written my another staff member (of Ministry of Works) who had since moved on. This program ran to Treasury's IBM650, and was done using "SOAP II". The program analysed slip circle stability for earth dams' using the method of Bishop.
