1488789 2022-10-13 20:54:00 the inevitable day when my PC dies and I need to find parts or software to try to resurrect or replace it.

Hmm. I'm still waiting...my PC will be (mostly) 13 next year. Longest ever....the motherboard, CPU and RAM. Mainly. Even the bios battery hasn't died yet.
Still, I'd upgrade it. I have been doing so since 1998 after all..........nothing left of the original other than a pack of DOS disks still lurking in a drawer. WHy, when I haven't even a FDD anymore...lol.

I don't hoard, tossed all the other rubbish ages ago. But I guess maybe because it is the only thing left? Something to bore grandkids with? Back in the day, we......yawn...

But I don't use any other device for the net. I like to watch stuff on PC, and TV but for instance a certain series on now, I watch on SKy first and then replay on the PC.

HOTD in case anyone cares. Much better for adjusting gamma and stuff. And pause, oooh look at that (close up) replay in slow motion to see the uh..anyway.

PCs also play anything as my brother discovered when trying to do his church stuff for aged mum. A USB in the TV was a massive fail, Chromecast or now it's warming up they just go in his room and watch on his PC.

Have read a few online books although I am not keen on ebooks.
It's just useful, imagine the world now without the net...unworkable.
Online shopping, communication, news, fact checking, etc...appointments even, online doctor..
