| 1488034 | 2022-08-28 02:33:00 | Problem is, the problem won't show up immediately, ... Had a customer whose Dell PC did that, with her it wouldn't start at all, I walked up and it started each time when pressing the power Button, I asked her to demonstrate how she turned it on (just in case) - Turned on of course, completely random wouldn't start. After 4 calls to try and make it fail I said lets hope that it completely blows up That way we will find the problem -- Her look :horrified A few weeks later it did :D | wainuitech (129) | ||
| 1488035 | 2022-08-28 06:29:00 | So, what if, it keeps on doing the random thing but won't completely blows up? Isn't that annoying???? If it's something cheap, like $10 or $20 , then just throw it away and buy a new one .. problem solved. Life isn't always smooth sailing, as the saying goes ... |

If it's something cheap, like $10 or $20 , then just throw it away and buy a new one .. problem solved. Life isn't always smooth sailing, as the saying goes ... Thats why I suggested, if Computer Lounge don't manage to sort it or cant fix it, contact Dell directly, they may say send it to Them for inspection, how long they would have it is any ones guess, they may just quickly find the fault, repair it, replace it or take weeks to try and recreate the problem 1st --- Your guess is as good as anyones :) Normally though they don't take long to determine if its a fault with the device or something else. |

| 1488037 | 2022-08-31 23:37:00 | Latest Update: Since I receive no 'news' from Computer Lounge (I sent in to them on last Thursday, 25/08/2022), I contacted (email) Dell direct on 29/08 evening, got a email reply requesting for more detail information the next day (Tuesday) morning which I replied immediately with all the information the asked for. I received a phone call from Dell on Tuesday late afternoon that they are happy to replace the monitor, requesting for my delivering address. Got a text and email yesterday evening that they have shipped the replacement and should be at my doorstep today. That's efficient! I went to collect my faulty monitor from Computer Lounge yesterday around noon, came back and connected it to my PC. It worked OK through out the day, (so far). BUT, this morning when I turned ON my PC, there's totally no display, pulled out the wall power outlet, reconnected it, still no display ... I assume it's dead. Anyway, I don't bother to do any trouble shooting as the replacement is arriving anytime now. Just a bit more info, Comp Lounge loaned me a monitor, and it was connected to my PC with the same cables, power and signal, had been using it since last Thursday without any issues. As such, I would say that the problem is NOT with my PC. I don't know how Computer Lounge did their trouble-shooting, or just left it on their bench collecting dust?? |

Most of those big manufactures don't muck around, that's why I suggested contacting Dell Directly . Fully understand why Computer Lounge took time "testing", but at least they loaned you another . Good you got it sorted, thing is you'll never know what they find, but more than likely not worth Dells time trying to find out . |

| 1488041 | 2022-09-01 05:41:00 | Thanks, wainuitech for your suggestion to contact Dell direct. I thought going through dealer is faster ... I was proven wrong... Well not always faster, but its the correct way, ususally how it goes --- The dealers are meant to sort out if its a problem or not, then if it is contact their suppliers. Who may just say replace it and send us back the faulty one. Some of the items when I do warranties (very few thankfully) I make sure something is actually faulty and tell the suppliers how it was tested etc, then they do forward replacements, some places though the item has to be back at the manufacture 1st before they will replace. |
