1488689 2022-10-04 06:00:00 Regarding the scrowl wheel switch.
The one that activates auto scrowl.
Is there any way to disable the switch function in Windows?
Or does this require a physical mod to the rodent?

1488690 2022-10-04 21:50:00 Can be done by Setting in the OS.

Depending on the OS as to where the setting is.

ALSO can be done Via the registry.

Just depends on where you want to disable it.

1488692 2022-10-04 22:54:00 Registry may be quicker, as some of the so called settings that disable dont actually work.

by Altering the following Keys it will disable the Scroll, but doesn't disable the press/click/lock function.

Open Regedit: (Windows key + R to open run, type in regedit)

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

Scroll down and locate WheelScrollChars and WheelScrollLines double click each entry, change the default value from 3 to 0. Reboot the computer.

After Reboot - The Scroll will now be disabled. To put back if you want, do the same and change back to 3

Its not that Scary if done right and follow exact paths, just to show here's one of my famous ;) Videos

1488694 2022-10-05 00:11:00 It's actually the switch function I want to disable, not the scroll.
I still want the scroll function.

Is it Scrolling on its own or only when you press down the wheel ?

The only setting I know of is go into Settings, Bluetooth and Devices, Mouse - Locate " Scroll inactive windows when I hover over them." Select OFF, reboot.

If this doesn't do what you want then not to sure what you are after. By Disabling the Switch (as asked in original Post) could completely disable all functions / scrolling.

1488696 2022-10-05 00:51:00 Also depending on your mouse there may be manufactures software that allows more control. My Logitech keyboard / mouse lots of options.

This may or may not work, never tried it. www.highrez.co.uk
