2022-09-14 22:19:00 | I relegated my older Asus Sabertooth P67B3 to a secondary PC. Until yesterday it worked well. Today when I turned it on, I got a no signal message on the monitor. I don't think it even went into BIOS. I replaced the HDMI cable and the GPU (a Palit Nvidia GTX560), still the same. All the lights and fans are working, just no signal to the monitor. I am inclined to think I have a motherboard problem or maybe the CPU (intel i5 2500k) might have failed. Any thoughts please?

2022-09-15 10:35:00 | try a different PSU if you have one, as well as Graphic Card. While the following is not any sort of Guarantee, or a exact test, remove all RAM, and press the power button, it should beep indicating no memory, often if a board fails it wont beep. | wainuitech (129) | |
2022-09-15 18:57:00 | I have found that the m/b has a CPU LED light that is on. Checking the ASUS site on Google indicates a problem with the CPU. I will remove the CPU today and see if there might be dirt or paste causing the problem. It might mean I need a replacement CPU (i5 2500K). | Bryan (147) | |

2022-09-16 23:08:00 | Have you checked the BIOS battery? When those get low, but not totally flat, they can cause this problem. That happens quite a bit. Got persons HP AIO here, they had some other place look at it and they said motherboards dead, need to buy a new PC. I looked after being recommended by another one of my customers, and yes it did look that way, press the power button ( that lit up) - but Nothing else , no fans no signs of life, changed the CMOS battery and it burst into life -- now just giving it a service. :)

2022-09-17 04:04:00 | Thank you all for your suggestions . However, nothing is working . I have replaced the Battery with a new one . I have removed the i5 2500K CPU, cleaned it up and placed it back with a newer CPU cooler . I have removed all the 4 sticks of RAM and tested them one by one in each of the 4 holders . Without RAM there is no sound from the Motherboard, but I don't think this model has a speaker, there isn't one that you can see . I have used another GPU to test that my original was not the problem . Without RAM, there are no LED lights showing . So, the problem is that the DRAM LED light flashes indicating a RAM of CPU problem . The CPU LED flashes indicating a CPU problem . Apparently the two together indicates a CPU problem . My next move will be to get hold of another CPU and try that . If no luck, this m/b will become a door stop or the like .

2022-10-01 02:08:00 | Finality: I have tried three CPUs without luck. I replaced the board with an Asus Sabertooth Z77 and away we went. The old board will now be disposed of. Pity as it was a great board! | Bryan (147) | |
