| 8323 | 2001-02-04 08:04:00 | I have an Acer 370pc notebook and I have a 56k modem card which I was told once placed in there could stay in there. Not so in my case, my laptop won't start up if the card is fully inserted in it's slot. It begins to boot up then beeps as it does when acknowledging the insertion of the card and then goes no further. What I have to do is push the card out atart the laptop up then push the card in and then it accepts it fine then eveything runs as normal. Windows 95, Lucent-venus-pcmcia 56k modem in Socket1, Pentium 133, acer 370pc acernote light. Also as another point of interest on a previous pc I owned if I placed my pointer over the modem icon in the status bar it gave me the actual speed that I was connected at instead this one gives me just the setting that I have set it to connect at 57600kbps. |
